Neste X Coldplay
The era of sustainable touring has started. Neste and Coldplay are moving towards sustainable touring with renewable fuels together.
Coldplay has pledged to cut direct GHG emissions by 50% compared to its previous tour. Neste provides Coldplay with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to help reduce emissions from air travels, while the company’s renewable diesel will help cut emissions from the band’s tour transports and stage power generation.
“We're really happy to partner with Neste to make our Music Of The Spheres World Tour as sustainable as possible. Their low-emission renewable fuels will play a major part in our efforts to minimise the tour’s climate impact,“ Coldplay says.
“We’ve tried to put sustainability at the center of this tour because it just feels like the only option,” says Coldplay’s Chris Martin.
Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel™, in neat form and over the life cycle reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80%* compared to fossil jet fuel. The fuel provides an immediate solution for reducing the carbon emissions of flying. It is a drop-in solution, suitable for existing aircraft and fuel distribution systems, available today and in commercial use worldwide.
Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ use results in up to 95%** less greenhouse gas emissions over the fuel’s life cycle when compared with fossil diesel. Neste MY Renewable Diesel is fully compatible with all diesel engines and the diesel fuel distribution infrastructure.
* Calculated with established life cycle assessment (LCA) methodologies, such as CORSIA methodology.
**) Over the fuel’s life cycle when compared with fossil diesel. GHG calculation method complies with the EU Renewable Energy Directive II 2018/2001/EU.
